Exhibition “The Couple: 20th-Century Trajectories” (Pierluca & Ira Bernardini)

Kick off the Musée de Guéthary’s 2026 museum season with an exhibition devoted to a major Italian artist couple, Ira Bernardini (paintings) and Pierluca (sculptures), who left a strong mark on the international art scene from the 1950s to the 1990s.

Expect a lively journey through their intertwined paths—from their move from Florence to the Paris area in 1960 to a period of intense creation: Pierluca’s large “Lacerations” series and Ira’s first wooden bas-reliefs. Most works come from the collection of their son, composer Simon Degli Innocenti, who is announced to attend the opening. A perfect spring cultural outing to start the season.
